Four of our GPs are involved in the running of the Well Baby clinic. The clinics are held on every Monday and Thursday, 1 -3. No appointment is needed. The doctors starts seeing the babies from 1.30pm. A health visitor and Practice Nurse are always in the clinics Drs Hull & Cartwright are on the Monday clinic. Drs Beer & Warsop are in the Thursday clinic. Usually one of our registrars in training is in the clinic. Purpose of Baby Clinic The main purpose is for the health visitor to see babies for routine developmental check ups, advising on feeding and other health problems, with pre immunisation counseling. The GP will generally do the "six week check", see any babies that the nurse or health visitor are concerned about and have the opportunity to discuss with the practice team. The practice nurse holds her immunisation session during this clinic, again with the advantage of the doctor being present |
